10 Great Team Building Games for Law Employees
2 Truths and a Perjury
You’ll Need:
- Your Team
This icebreaker challenge, a spinoff of two truths and a lie, is a great way to start off any team building day. Team members must list off three statements about themselves, two true and one false, and the others in the group must discern which is a lie, or, “perjury”. This team building game not only exercises your law team’s reasoning and deductive skills they use at work but helps them get to know one another better. Who knows what your team will learn about each other!
Law Trivia
You’ll Need:
- Whiteboard
- Flashcards
- Teams
Trivia games are a great way to get your team warmed up at the start of an event. Your law team can get a little extra from a round of trivia by tailoring the questions to their profession or even their specific firm. This team building game exercises your team’s mind and gets them pumped up for the games that follow.
Minefield
You’ll Need:
- Blindfold
- Obstacles to Maneuver Around
- Open Area
- Finish Line
This team building game can be played either outdoors or indoors according to your needs. To play, begin by setting up small obstacles around an open area. This game boosts communication and collaborative skills, something your law firm can use in their daily work lives.

- iPads
- List of Objects to Photograph
Your law team may spend a lot of time indoors. Why not play a team building game that encourages them to get outside and explore? This game can be played at a local park, on your city’s streets, or at a nature reserve. Write up a list of items (signs, plants, landmarks) to be photographed, divide your team into groups, and send them out to photograph the items on the list. The team that gets the most items or completes the hunt fastest wins!
Relay Race with Gavel
You’ll Need:
- Gavel
- Timer
- Finish Line
This team building game is played like a standard relay race but with a judge’s gavel in place of a baton. This game gets your team’s blood pumping and touches on the courtroom aspect of their professional lives. Teams must cross the finish line and tag in another player from their group, who does the same until the final player crosses the line. The first team to complete the relay wins the race.
Deserted Island Challenge
You’ll Need:
- Slips of Paper
- Pens
- Your Team
The Deserted Island Challenge is a great passive activity (a laidback game for events, as mentioned in this blog) to play between rounds of more active games. This game also promotes problem-solving skills as well as communication and collaboration, things your team can utilize in their work life. To play this game, players must write down three items they’d bring with them to a deserted island. Then, the group must work together to combine their items to use them for survival. This game can be played without a designated winner, or you can award the group that uses the most creative solutions, the most likely to succeed, or any other point you’d like in order to give out prizes.
Capture the Flag
You’ll Need:
- Large Open Area
- 2 Teams
- 2 Flags
- Colored Armbands or Headbands
Capture the Flag is a classic outdoor game that promotes physical activity and problem-solving skills. Teams must work to capture the opposing team’s flag, located at the other team’s “base”. The groups are given hallmark colors to wear, in order for players to recognize who is on which teams. Opposing team members can be tagged out of the race throughout the process. Whichever team ends up capturing the opposer’s flag is the winner of this team building game. This game, being full of physical activity, is great for your law team, who may spend plenty of time indoors. So, too, does its focus on teamwork and strategy promote skills they can use in their everyday lives.

You’ll Need:
- Our MEGA Escape Room
An escape room is an exciting team building activity that can promote your law team’s collaborative skills, communication skills, and problem-solving skills, things they use at work every day. So, too, is it an amazing bonding activity that will give your team plenty of good memories together to share. You can either rent out an escape room for them or, when planning an event with us, utilize our MEGA Escape Room.
