An Incredible OC Picnic
Planning company picnics in Orange County are always incredible.
When an OC company contacted us to plan their Irvine company picnic, we were excited to work with them in this beautiful city.
Our client wanted to give back to their hardworking team with a classic company picnic. Utilizing this idea, we worked with them to create the perfect experience.
Their team would gather at one of our favorite Irvine locations, William R. Mason Regional Park, for a day of fun and excitement.
We arrived at Mason Park early that late summer morning. The air was crisp, suggesting fall was on its way. The sun shone over the park’s grassy space, reflecting the shimmering morning dew.
The Picnic Opens
Our team set to work, pumps whirring as inflatables sprung to life. Some of us busied ourselves, staking them down. Others set up booths or fired up woodsmoke grills.
This picnic would have all the classics of a summer picnic. From rustic sunflower bouquets on booths to gleaming white umbrellas, the scene was set.
The hours whizzed by as our team made preparations, and soon, the event was set to begin.
With a buzz of chatter, crowds began to flow into the park.
Smiles gleamed on their faces as their eyes scanned the picnic setup. The MC greeted all the attendees, beckoning them into the picnic.
Mouthwatering Meal
The mouthwatering aroma of grilled delicacies and BBQ drew guests to the buffet. Today’s menu included a selection of burgers, hotdogs, and barbeque chicken, including vegan versions.
At the buffet line, condiments and toppings sat.
Juicy tomatoes, bright lettuce, sauerkraut, red onion rings, jalapenos, pineapple rings, chili, grilled onions, and pickles were on offer.
For sauces, handmade guacamole, steak sauce, teriyaki, relish, deli mustard, mayonnaise, yellow mustard, sriracha, and barbeque sauce were ready.
Our food and beverage team also offered thick reams of bacon, cheddar, pepper jack, American cheeses, and brioche or sesame buns.
Fun for All!
Inflatables filled the park, attracting guests from across the grounds. Laughter and excitement filled the bounce house while cheers rang out from the Velcro soccer darts game.
The adventurous tried out the sports arena bouncer; its games a great way to warm up for the day’s events.
Today’s picnic would be filled with sports, field games, and team building activities.
Capitalizing on the vast, open space in the park, we prepared employee-only and family competitions.
Guests were invited to partake in a field game extravaganza.
All ages converged on the playing field, trying their hand at things like a wet sponge relay, a potato sack race, and a water balloon toss.
Cheers, applause, and laughter rang out, mingling with the thrum of music, and filled the park with an air of joy.
Camaraderie & Memories
The employee-only competitions gave the staff a chance to bond over friendly competition. The company of colleagues and the camaraderie they shared was a meaningful connection, something that is vital in the workplace.
Teams clapped each others’ backs or high-fived as they won their rounds. Prizes were up for grabs at the game table for the winners, as they had been for the family games.
If guests needed a chance to cool off from the heat of the competition, our team was here to give them a cool treat. Ice cream novelties fueled the fun: a selection of popsicles, ice cream sandwiches, drumsticks, and more.
Attendees looking to create a snapshot memory of the day posed in the open-air photo booth or in front of the company logo wall for pictures.
The logo wall served as a great backdrop and a good branding opportunity at the picnic.
Smiling faces posing with props and costumes immortalized the picnic.
An Awesome Finale
The team was excited for that day’s final competition. For their picnic headliner, the client opted for a team building game. At their yearly summer picnics, the staff enjoys a good volleyball tournament. Even the bystanders participated by cheering their colleagues on. Bragging rights were on the line, as this tournament only happens once a year.
The teams were in a rush of movement, ducking, bobbing, and jumping. The referee, clad in bold stripes, stood on the sidelines. Nonplayers stood around the park, cheering their colleagues, friends, and family along.
Once the volleyball tournament was over, the picnic wound to a close. Each attendee beamed, a twinkle in their eyes from the day’s joy. Even as the final guest left the park and our team broke down the last booths, we, too, felt refreshed. This Irvine company picnic had been an incredible experience, not just for the team but for us, too.
